Installation of Licensed MS Visio or MS Project.

Overview

The following instructions detail the steps needed for the installation of Microsoft Visio and/or Microsoft Project.  These instructions will only work for users that have purchased and been assigned a license for the product.  To purchase a license submit a purchase request with supervisor and Munis Org and Object code.

Definitions

MS Visio - Microsoft application to create flow diagrams or visual diagrams

MS Project - Microsoft application to manage a list of tasks, resources and create a schedule

 

  1. Connect to you home network or a cell phone hotspot.  You will not be able to install MS Project or MS Visio while connect to the City of Goodyear network. 
  2. Go to mail.office365.com and sign in using full email address and network password.
  3. Once logged into Office 365 locate the 9 dots in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.  Click on the 9 dots to open the navigation menu.
  4. The navigation menu will open with a list of application that are available to be used online.  Click on the Office link to the right of the 9 dots to access Office page.  
  5. On the Office page, locate and click on the “Install Office” button and select “Other install options” from the drop-down menu.
  6. Click on Apps and devices in the left column.  This will show you the available apps that are licensed to you.  Click on either Install Visio and/or Install Project.  Some of you might have one of these installed already.  
  7. The installer will download and will be available from the browser.  Depending on the browser that is being used the download will appear in different location within the browser.  In this document Chrome so being used so the download is shown in the bottom left-hand corner.  The installer can also be found in the Download section of File Explorer.  Double click to start the install. 
  8. Click on the download and the select the Yes button on the User Account Control.
  9. Windows will start the download and install or MS Project/MS Visio on to your computer.  
  10. Once Office is installed the following screen appears and can be closed.  The program(s) will now be available.
  11. Repeat this process for the other application if not already installed.
